Popular Science counts Vision Pro as one of the most innovative products of 2024 › ifun.de

Popular Science counts the Vision Pro as one of the 50 most innovative products in 2024. The US magazine, which has been published since 1872, has chosen Apple glasses first in the “Gadgets” category in its ranking this year.

Popular Science is presenting the so-called “Best of What's New Awards” for the 37th time this year. The highlighted products are distributed across the categories Gadgets, Entertainment, Aerospace, Personal Care, Auto, Engineering, Sports & Outdoors, Home, Emergency Services and Health.

From air taxis to vegan cheese

Regarding the “Gadgets” category, the authors note that at the beginning of the year they actually expected a wave of AI-supported products to be at the top. However, products that have now appeared in this segment such as the Rabbit R1 or the Humane AI Pin were all disappointing, and it remained to be seen whether these expectations would be fulfilled in the coming years. Instead, Apple made a breakthrough this year with the Vision Pro. Apple's smart glasses are extraordinary, important and very impressive.

In addition to the Vision Pro, the Sony A9 III camera, the DJI Neo drone, the Boox Palma e-ink phone and the Snapdragon X processors from Qualcomm were able to place themselves in the “Gadgets” subsection.

There are numerous other interesting products and ideas in the other categories. These include the transparent television Signature OLED T from LG, an air taxi and the removable Bluetooth speaker from JBL integrated into the Toyota Tacoma. A vegan cheese, the DELTA Pro 3 power station from EcoFlow, the Oura Ring 4 and the avalanche protection app AspectAvy, which is not available in this country, are also listed.
