Joy Beune is a star in the Netherlands. Now the speed skating world champion is causing a sensation with an erotic photo shoot.
She is a world champion in speed skating and has more than 200,000 followers on Instagram: Joy Beune is not only known to sports fans in the Netherlands. In the December issue, the 25-year-old blonde can be seen on the cover of Playboy in her home country – and sets a record. For the first time in the history of the erotic magazine, an issue had to be reprinted in the Netherlands.
“In the eleven years that Pijper Media has been publishing our magazine, nothing like this has ever happened. Books are reprinted, but this is not normally the case with magazines,” says editor-in-chief Niek Stolker to the Dutch portal “Ad”.
Beune himself would not have expected such great interest: “That’s very nice to hear. I wouldn't have expected so many to be sold over the counter.” The enormous demand confirmed her decision. Because Beune had doubts as to whether the Playboy shoot was right. The world champion struggled with her body.
“There were moments when I compared myself to other speed skaters. They are all super slim and have incredibly toned bodies. Then I thought: Maybe I'm too heavy. I have to be as light as possible so that I can run the fastest.” “But that's huge nonsense. You have to eat well, you need that energy,” she explains.
Beune is now proud of her body and is receiving a lot of encouragement from fans and friends: “I expected a lot of criticism, but I only hear nice messages from everyone around me and that they think it's incredibly cool.”
