Woman dies after triple shooting in London as police launch murder investigation

A murder investigation has been launched following a three-shooting in northwest London after a woman was killed and a man was left in a critical condition.

The Metropolitan Police described the incident as a “despicable act of violence” and said officers were called to Gifford Road in Brent at around 9.15pm on Saturday evening.

A woman, believed to be in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, both in their 30s, were also injured. One remains in hospital in critical condition, while the second man's injuries are not life-threatening.

Superintendent Tony Josephs, from the North West Command Unit, which looks after Brent, said: “This is a truly shocking incident and I understand the concern this will cause to the local community and people across London.”

“I would like to reassure people that a team of experienced investigators is already working diligently to piece together the events of last night and determine who is responsible for this heinous act of violence.”

“If you were in or around Gifford Close at the time of the shooting or have any information about who was responsible, please contact us. A family is devastated and we must work together to give them answers.”

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing as road closures remain in place around the scene.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 or “X” @MetCC quoting CAD7137/14Dec. Tips can also be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
