This Wednesday marks one month since the deadly mass shooting in Maplewood Park, and no one is still in custody. Alex Council wants to change that.

“The killers have not yet been found and as a father I don't want this to fade into the background or reach a level where it no longer matters,” said Alex Council.

On July 28, Alex's daughter Phylicia and 25-year-old Tyasia Manning were shot and killed during a community barbecue in Maplewood Park. Five other people were also injured.

Now Alex is offering an additional reward to help catch those responsible.

“My goal is to raise at least $10,000. The fund is currently at $2,500,” Council said. “The goal is to raise the money so we can keep an eye on things and stay active because no parent should have to go through something like this.”

Rochester police have released several photos of armed men who were present at the scene during the shooting, however they have not been named as suspects and no one is currently in custody.

Alex says he wants the investigation to be completed as soon as possible.

“It's so frustrating that no one has been caught because we have pictures, we have people with guns and no one has been caught,” Council said. “It's frustrating, but I'm being as patient as I can.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 911 or the Rochester Police Department Major Crimes Unit at (585) 428-7157.

You can also call the Crime Stoppers hotline at (585) 423-9300 and remain anonymous.
