Former showmaster Thomas Gottschalk cannot understand the hype surrounding Dubai chocolate in Germany. “I don’t understand all the hype,” said the 74-year-old in the last episode of his RTL+ podcast “Die Supernasen” with Mike Krüger. “We were given a Dubai chocolate (…), but it was quite bitter. I don’t understand all the hype with this pistachio stuff.”
One of the food trends of the year
Dubai chocolate has become trendy in recent weeks with clever advertising campaigns across social media. It has a filling of pistachio cream and toasted dough strands called angel hair. Many stores only offered a limited number of tablets at the start of sales, so long queues formed in front of the store doors.
