Dietingen (dpa) – The investigators are largely withholding information in the case of a twelve-year-old who was seriously shot in Dietingen, Baden-Württemberg. According to the public prosecutor's office, the reason is to protect the arrested alleged perpetrator, who is a teenager and, according to dpa information, is said to be 14 years old. He is a friend of the twelve-year-old. The police and public prosecutor neither wanted to deny nor confirm this.
Severe head injuries
A spokesman for the public prosecutor's office said traces are currently being secured and evaluated. Due to the serious head injuries, a medical report was prepared. According to information from the German Press Agency, the boy is supposed to be shot in the eye. He was so badly injured that he could not be questioned until now. The authority spokesman did not want to say whether the alleged perpetrator had commented on the matter.
An arrest warrant was issued against the suspect on Tuesday afternoon for attempted murder. An investigation was initiated against the teenager's parents. They are accused of weapons law violations and negligent bodily harm. It was initially unclear whether and how many weapons were in the suspected teenager's home.
