One of the latest food trends taking social media by storm is cucumber salad. People all over the world seem to be jumping on the bandwagon, making their versions of this viral salad and sharing the results on various platforms. According to reports, one of the main influences behind this viral trend is a vlogger from Canada named Logan Moffitt. Due to his popularity, many users refer to him as the “cucumber guy.”

Logan's varied cucumber videos have been viewed millions of times on Instagram and other social media platforms. He often starts them off by saying, “Sometimes you have to eat a whole cucumber. I'll show you the best way to do it.” He then shares a delicious cucumber recipe. In some cases, the clips show him enjoying cucumber treats in various locations. Many of his recipes feature sliced cucumbers with sesame seeds, garlic, scallions, soy sauce and MSG. He's put his own spin on the simple Asian-inspired cucumber salad, using ingredients ranging from salmon and cream cheese to strawberry jam and peanut butter. Social media users seem to love Logan's videos and his “commitment” to the cool pumpkin variety. In some places, the trend is also cited as one of the reasons for cucumber shortages. According to the New York Times, Icelandic news reports blamed the social media hype for the difficulties home cooks face in getting cucumbers from their usual local suppliers. However, some experts in Iceland have pointed out that there are various other factors contributing to the shortage, according to the BBC. Still, it's hard to deny that Logan's cucumber creations have become a powerful object of fascination.
Previously, Moffitt caught our attention when he shared a video of himself making one of his classic cucumber salads while treading water in a pond/lake. “I tried but it didn't work.
