The BSW federal board is angry about the unauthorized establishment of a regional association in Hamburg. The party leadership does not want to recognize him.

Members of the Sahra Wagenknecht alliance (BSW) say they have founded a regional association in Hamburg, but it is not recognized by the party's federal executive board. t-online reported exclusively on the plans. “From our point of view, this is a null and void process that was not agreed upon with the party executive committee and contradicts our statutes,” said the federal executive committee upon request. The board is planning to found a Hamburg regional association on Saturday.

The incident surrounding the two Hamburg BSW members Dejan Lazić and Norbert Weber attracted attention because there is rarely open contradiction in the young party to the federal executive board around party founder Sahra Wagenknecht. However, General Secretary Christian Leye said that the party does not value this highly.

“We are setting up the BSW Hamburg regional association at the weekend, and then there will be a regional association, just as in each party there is only ever one regional association,” said Leye in Berlin. Co-party leader Amira Mohamed Ali said: “What was founded is not even Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht. They simply came up with a fantasy name and claimed that it was a regional association.” This has nothing to do with the BSW.

The party committees would deal with the matter surrounding the two BSW members, she added. Lazić and Weber founded their association with several colleagues last weekend under the name “Alliance for Reason and Justice”. According to their own statements, they consider this to be legal.

So far, the BSW Federal Executive Board has also decided on the admission of new members in each individual case. Secretary General Leye announced that this practice would be changed next year, but how and when exactly is still being examined. “We will accept more members. We’re looking forward to it.” According to the party, there are currently around 1,200 nationwide.
