Survey – New Year's Eve firecrackers are so unpopular in the southwest – Panorama

Mannheim (dpa/lsw) – According to a survey, around three quarters of people in Baden-Württemberg want to avoid firecrackers on New Year's Eve. This emerges from the Baden-Württemberg report on behalf of all private radio stations in the state. The proportion of women is 80 percent, higher than that of men (69 percent). The rate also increases with age.

A total of 8 percent of those surveyed said they wanted to fire less firecrackers this year than last. No reasons were asked. Fireworks are repeatedly criticized for environmental reasons. According to the announcement, 15 percent want to shoot the same amount and 3 percent even want to shoot more.

The Kantar survey institute surveyed 1,060 people at the beginning of December, it said. Six out of ten respondents think there is a general ban on firecrackers and the results are rather good. Almost a third find it rather bad. The proportion of supporters is greater among women than among men.
