Linda de Mol and Jeroen Rietbergen are a couple again. The TV presenter describes the road back as “long and arduous”.
The presenter Linda de Mol, 60, and Jeroen Rietbergen, 53, have rekindled their relationship. As the Dutch newspaper “De Telegraaf” reports, de Mol’s management has now confirmed this. The news comes almost three years after their separation, which was triggered by the abuse scandal on “The Voice of Holland”.
“Who do I want to spend the time I have left with? “I'm now clear about that, even though it was a long and arduous journey,” writes de Mol in the current issue of her magazine “LINDA.”, thereby indirectly confirming the rekindled love for her ex-partner.
“Serious” and “shocking” allegations
The couple separated at the beginning of 2022 after it became known that Rietbergen, as bandleader on “The Voice of Holland”, was said to have abused his position of power and sexually harassed candidates. RTL Nederland then suspended the broadcast of the program and reported that Rietbergen resigned as bandleader. The sender also spoke of “serious” and “shocking” allegations that they had not previously known about.
The allegations became known after research by the broadcasting association BNNVARA. According to media reports, Rietbergen admitted to having had sexual contacts several years ago. De Mol said in a statement in September 2022 that he was living in a “terrible nightmare”. In addition, she no longer knows “what is true and what is not.”
Reconciliation after investigation
After the investigation against Rietbergen was carried out, the couple became closer again, according to numerous media speculations. In a recent interview with the Telegraaf, de Mol said that the rumors about a possible reconciliation were “mainly a media thing”. Now what many already suspected has been confirmed: the TV presenter and the musician are daring to make a new start.
