Two long-distance drivers clash – Blaulichtreport-Saarland.de

Dillingen – Yesterday, Thursday morning, December 19, 2024, a dispute escalated between two long-distance drivers in front of the Dillinger Hütte site. The two men, a 39-year-old Bulgarian and a 47-year-old Belgian, stood in line with their truck in front of the large scale at around 9 a.m. to determine the weight of their vehicles. What was initially a verbal conflict quickly developed into a physical argument.

Both drivers got out of their cabs and attacked each other. They each suffered injuries that required medical treatment. Plant security notified the Saarlouis police station, which sent several patrol cars to the scene. The officials managed to separate the contracting parties. Both men were then taken to a hospital for treatment. According to current information, the injuries are not life-threatening.

The police investigation is difficult because both drivers claimed that the other started the argument and that they were only acting in self-defense. Witnesses and other truck drivers on site have not yet been able to provide any clear statements that would help clarify the incident. Language barriers make the officers’ work even more difficult.

The police have currently initiated an investigation against both of them. Whether the dispute can ever be clearly resolved remains questionable. It also remains unclear who was able to use the large scale after the altercation. The investigation is ongoing.
