Son shoots his parents because he should stop gambling and get a job

A man from the US state of Florida is accused of shooting his father to death and seriously wounding his mother with a shot in the head. Joseph Voigt's alleged motive is even more unbelievable than the crime: The 23-year-old went crazy when his father told him to put away the video game console and finally look for a job.

Mother Susan Voigt managed to call 911 on her cell phone around 11:20 p.m. Bartow Police Department officers found the body of Marvin Voigt, 63, in his driveway and his wife in critical condition in the house. Police Chief Stephen Walker told Fox13: “The mother was lying on the couch with a head wound. She was still alive and was taken to the emergency room.” She was able to tell the cops that her son had driven away in his car.

Because he had to stop gambling, he became a murderer

The following large-scale manhunt throughout the entire state of Florida was successful just 2½ hours later. A patrol car spotted the car they were looking for in a suburb of Orlando. She Joseph took Voigt. According to Police Chief Walker, he immediately confessed during interrogation that he had shot his parents: “It said that his father was angry with him for only playing video games at home day and night in order to finally do something with his life .” “

Both parents then followed their son as he went outside to his car. The gun that he then used to shoot his parents is said to have been in there. Walker: “It’s so senseless and just sad what happened. From what we know, the Voigts were really very good people who didn’t deserve this!”

In the case of son Joseph, the apple fell far from the tree. The junior had been known to the police since he was a teenager – among other things, because he had been shooting around in the neighborhood with a pistol. The unemployed Filius was last arrested on December 1st for serious bodily harm, but was released on bail (provided by his parents). This time, however, he has to remain in custody until his trial begins. Prosecutors have charged him with murder and attempted murder.
