A “juvenile male” was killed in the latest fatal shooting in Mobile, according to police

In Mobile's third homicide since Friday night, a “juvenile male” was found shot to death near a wrecked car Monday, police said.

The victim's name and age were not released.

The Mobile Police Department said in a news release that officers responded to the 800 block of Charles Street around 10:23 p.m. after reports of shots fired.

According to police, officers at the scene discovered shots coming from a vehicle traveling toward Gayle Street.

While still on Charles Street, officers heard shots coming from Gayle Street. The officers continued in that direction and found a wrecked car that had crashed into a pole.

Near the vehicle was a dead young man who had been fatally shot, the release said.

The death is the third murder investigation in the city since Friday evening.

Dante Desantis, 31, was killed in a mass shooting at a bonfire party Friday night that also left six teenagers injured.

Another man died Sunday after being shot on I-65. The victim was identified as Monterio Harris, 28.
