All 10 of the largest real estate deals in Sebastian County in May were residential and agricultural transactions, most of them in Fort Smith, according to Sebastian County Tax Assessor Zach Johnson's office.
The largest deal was for $926,500 when the Wright Family Trust bought a home in Fort Smith from Michael and Keri Duff. The deal closed on May 8.
The 10 largest real estate deals in Sebastian County in May had a total value of $6.1 million. The 10 largest deals for the first five months of 2024 totaled $49.452 million. The 10 largest deals for each month of 2023 had a total value of $103.704 million.
The largest real estate deal so far in the first five months of 2024 was a $7.195 million deal for duplexes near the Arkansas River Valley Nature Center in Chaffee Crossing. The property was sold by Platinum Building Group, owned by Fort Smith-based Norris Group, to Bentonville-based Sanders Properties. The deal closed on Feb. 5. Sanders Properties also paid $2.855 million for two apartment buildings at 7800 Joseph St. and 1615 Jackson St. in Fort Smith in June 2023.
The largest deal of 2023 was the sale of the Southbrooke Apartments at 8201 US 271 S. in Fort Smith for $5.7 million. The complex was sold by Dallas-based FS Southbrooke to Fort Smith-based Southbrooke Fort Smith. The new owners plan to renovate the 129-unit apartment complex. The sale of the new Veterans Affairs Clinic in Fort Smith and its associated land for $20.387 million was the largest real estate deal in Sebastian County in 2022.
