On Monday, around 10 p.m., a 62-year-old man injured his 44-year-old son-in-law with a knife during an escalating family dispute in Traben-Trarbach.
The victim suffered several injuries in the attack and was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The suspect initially fled, but was soon caught by police near the crime scene and arrested.
Nothing can be said at the moment about the background to the escalation. The Trier criminal police have taken over the investigation on suspicion of attempted homicide.
The 62-year-old was presented to the investigating judge this Tuesday at the request of the public prosecutor's office at the Trier district court. This ordered pre-trial detention. The suspect was then taken to a correctional facility. Subscribe to the Blue Light Report Saarland WhatsApp channel NOW and ALWAYS stay up to date directly (click here)
