Fashion has no expiration date
6 trends you can wear at any age
Fashion knows no age – we've probably all heard this sentence before, but have we stuck to it? Far too often we shy away from new trends because we think they don't suit us or don't suit our age. It's all nonsense, at least when it comes to these six fashion highlights.
Who doesn't know the situation: You pick up your beloved fashion magazine and admire the latest fashion trends on beautiful models. After just a few seconds, the sweet euphoria is disrupted by bitter self-doubt. I would actually like to wear the pink crop top too, but such bright colors? That's just not for me. Sometimes we may be right, but our six fashion trends are just so beautiful that they have no expiration date, no age limit and flatter almost every type. Don't you believe that? Then let yourself be surprised!
Timelessly beautiful: colorful trouser suits
Blogger Grece Ghanem loves them, Catherine, Princess of Wales made them her trademark last year and we also think colorful trouser suits are a must for every wardrobe. Why? Quite simply: They are elegant, with a loose fit, currently on trend and bring a fresh zest to our gray and black business wardrobe. If bright colors like purple and yellow are too loud for you, you can switch to a delicate old pink or berry red. Blue and green tones also work well. A little styling tip: If you don't want to look too overwhelming, just stick to the same color range as Beate Finken-Christmann from befifty. Their monochrome look looks modern, fresh, but not too intentional.
Show me your waist
Most women find it difficult, especially when it comes to tailored and tight-fitting fashion. Too often we are at war with our own bodies. But tailored doesn’t mean unflattering – quite the opposite. By emphasizing our waist, we conjure up a sexy hourglass figure. Fashion-conscious women from Copenhagen, Paris New York and others are consciously wearing their blazers tightly laced in the middle: not a tailored blazer, but an oversized blazer with a belt. Whether with jeans with a checked blazer or tone-on-tone black, the laced middle is the perfect choice for various occasions. Bianca Sstädt from Stilfrage even shows that double denim also works.
Mary Janes: The shoe trend from Paris
When it comes to shoes, one model is currently ahead among French women: Mary Janes. The cute shoe models, which are very similar to ballerina flats, have a strap on the instep. It is a playful shoe that is reminiscent of children's shoes from earlier times. But if you combine the shoe with elegant basics, it looks age-appropriate and not overly friendly. Actress Kelly Rutherford wears specimens that can also be read as a ballerina. She combines it with a wide, beige skirt as well as the matching blouse and a black bag. No color experiments, just plain and simple: This is how you make the most of the style potential of Mary Janes.
Trophy Pants: Not just for the brave
Brands like Loewe, 7 for all mankind and My Jewelery have shown in 2023 that trousers can become real statement pieces. They sparkle and glitter and can have large logo prints on the knees. Admittedly, it's a trend that doesn't sound particularly timeless or sustainable at first – but it is. Because recurring events like New Year's Eve or your own birthday keep coming and who doesn't want to stand out from the crowd. The eye-catcher trousers are perfect for this. Combine it with a neutral shirt and chic high heels and you, like Grece Ghanem, are the star of the evening.
Striped shirt love
Another trend that we copied from French women years ago is the striped shirt. According to the T-shirt trends for 2024, we no longer wear our short shirts tightly fitting, but rather slightly overcut and with longer sleeves.
This may sound bulky to some people, but it looks good on any figure if you wipe it in the right size. Important: If the shirt is smaller, please choose a larger size. Simone Jacob combines a green bag with her green striped shirt and brings a pure holiday atmosphere to her look.
Nobody comes across wide leg pants
The award for the most popular trousers in 2023 goes to the wide leg pants. Whether old, young, small body, large body: everyone has left their skinny jeans hanging in the closet and replaced them with wide trouser legs. And this is mainly due to the new wearing comfort. No waistband cuts in any more discomfort and our skin can breathe freely again. There are also stylistic advantages: fabric trousers with wide legs look much more elegant than slim cigarette trousers. If the trousers don't give you enough freedom, you can also opt for oversized cuts at the top, like Denise Boomkens. The further, the cooler – or something like that!
