Yesterday Microsoft presented a new open source project AI Dev Gallery, which enables the integration of AI functions into the Windows apps created. Certainly interesting for application developers. Because it can also be run locally and offline.
The prerequisite for this is Visual Studio 2022, Windows 10 1809 or higher, or Windows 11. It offers an intuitive user interface for exploring and testing interactive AI games supported by local models. The most important functions are:
- Quickly explore and download models from popular sources on GitHub and HuggingFace.
- Testing various models with interactive examples in 25 different scenarios including text, image, audio and video use cases.
- All relevant code and library references for each example are displayed.
- Switch between models running on CPU and GPU depending on the capabilities of the device.
- Quickly get started in your own projects by exporting any sample to a new Visual Studio project that references the same model cache, eliminating duplicate downloads.
The article also shows further examples of how to navigate the applications. The AI Dev Gallery is still in development and will be expanded over time. And you as a developer can also help on GitHub.
