Drunk driving Police stop several drivers in Luxembourg and confiscate driving licenses

A vehicle in serpentine lines, dangerous maneuvers and refused alcohol tests: the Luxembourg police have had their hands full in the past 24 hours. Several drivers were caught in traffic stops or were involved in accidents while under the influence of alcohol.

On Tuesday morning, a police patrol stopped a car in Donkols that had been noticed for driving unsafely. The driver was drunk and his driver's license was confiscated. This emerges from the police report on Wednesday. A few hours later, a similar incident happened again in Kayl. Here, too, a driver was stopped in a serpentine line. The alcohol test confirmed the suspicion.

A traffic accident occurred in Rambruch on Tuesday around 6 p.m. A motorcycle crashed into a parked car at the intersection of Grand-Rue and Rue des Champs. The passenger of the motorcycle was injured and taken to hospital while the driver fled the scene. The police were able to locate him later. An alcohol test came back positive and a report was drawn up.

A driver was caught in a traffic stop in Hoscheid-Dickt on Tuesday evening, the report continues. A drug test gave a positive result, whereupon the police issued a provisional driving ban. A police patrol noticed a vehicle parked on a zebra crossing in Rodingen early on Wednesday morning. The driver and his passenger were uncooperative with officers and showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. The driver refused the alcohol test, whereupon the officers confiscated his driver's license. Both men were medically examined and then taken into custody.
