Berlin. Former prosecutor Kimberly Guilfoyle is set to become US ambassador to Greece. Until recently, she was in a relationship with Trump's son.
US President-elect Donald Trump has chosen another person from his family circle for office: the lawyer and former Fox News presenter Kimberly Guilfoyle to become US ambassador to Greece. The 55-year-old spoke at the US Republican Party conference in July and is a Trump confidant. She was engaged to Donald Trump Jr. (46), but they recently separated, as US media reported.

Kimberly Guilfoyle is “a close friend and ally,” Trump said on his online service Truth Social on Tuesday. Guilfoyle's “extensive experience”, her leadership skills in the areas of law, media and politics “as well as her keen intellect make her highly qualified to represent the United States and protect its interests abroad,” said Trump, justifying his choice.

Kimberly Guilfoyle was a prosecutor in San Francisco
The lawyer previously worked as a prosecutor in San Francisco and Los Angeles. She has already been married twice, including in the early 2000s to Democrat Gavin Newsom, who was then mayor of San Francisco and is now one of the most prominent figures in his party as governor of the state of California.

Trump nominated his long-time friend Tom Barrack for the post of US ambassador to Turkey. The former ambassador to El Salvador, Ronald Johnson, is to take up the same post in the future Mexico Exercise – a key diplomatic position in the new administration as Trump has threatened the neighboring country with tariff increases.
Trump names candidates for other positions
The leadership of the US competition authority Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is said to be a former board member in the future Andrew Ferguson take over. “Andrew has proven that he stands up to Big Tech’s censorship and protects free speech in our great country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Although the Republicans are generally considered to be more business-friendly than the Democrats, they also repeatedly accuse the big tech companies of censoring their voices in the fight against disinformation.
