Berlin-Zehlendorf: Man lies on the sidewalk with stab wounds

Berlin – In Berlin-Zehlendorf is a 21 year old at one on Monday Knife attack been seriously injured. The officers now arrested a suspect.

As the police announced, a 23-year-old presented himself at Berlin's Ostbahnhof on Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. He is later in custody.

He will be brought before an investigating judge on Wednesday. This decides whether to issue an arrest warrant. The public prosecutor's office described the crime as serious bodily harm because the victim will likely remain paralyzed despite emergency surgery.

The victim previously reported that he was attacked by a man with a knife in a park on Teltower Damm on Monday evening.

During the attack, the man suffered stab wounds to his back and thoracic spine. There was also a cut on his face.

Rescue workers took the seriously injured man to a clinic where he had to undergo emergency surgery.

It is still unclear what the relationship between the attacker and the injured person was, nor what the motive behind the attack was. The investigation is ongoing.
