Tesla's onboard navigation has seen a huge improvement with a recent software update that includes a simple feature.
Tesla's onboard navigation is one of the best tech features of this car, offering satellite imagery and live traffic status updates if you have premium connectivity.
However, the presence of navigation on the huge center screen is a great touch, making it one of the best systems in the entire automotive industry.
Now Tesla is introducing a new improvement that will undoubtedly help drivers avoid unnecessary delays.
Accordingly No Tesla app, Tesla has added a construction site feature to its onboard navigation to help drivers identify potential construction sites on their preferred route that typically cause delays.
The “Construction” function was integrated into the vehicle navigation with the software update 2024.32.
While construction site delays were previously detected and taken into account in route guidance, the vehicle now shows the construction site area with an icon and thus roughly estimates the location of the construction site.
To get the construction icon, you need premium connectivity, which includes live traffic visualization and satellite imagery maps. Navigation is a standard feature, but you need the other two features to enable construction detection.
Tesla's onboard navigation has received many new features over the past year, including some that owners have requested from CEO Elon Musk.
