Every year the Nobel Prizes are awarded in Sweden on December 10th. An occasion where, traditionally, the entire Swedish royal family quickly turns up. Princess Sofia inspires with a dream in Yves Klein blue – and thereby recycled a piece that we almost didn't know about.

It is the event in the dark Swedish winter: the awarding of the Nobel Prizes in Stockholm. Established by Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prizes – consisting of six separate awards – are given to individuals “who have brought the greatest benefit to humanity over the past year.” The ceremonies generate international media coverage and a great stir. And of course that applies to the two royal families in particular and to the royal ladies in the foreground. Recycler dress, whose first appearance almost no one would have noticed.

Princess Sofia: She recycled a dress from her Vogue shoot for the Nobel Prize – but hardly anyone knew about it

Just a few days ago, Princess Sofia celebrated her 40th birthday and made her debut as the cover star of the December-January issue of Vogue Scandinavia. In the cover story, the pregnant woman wears a selection of dresses and designer pieces, three of which were custom-made by Danish designer Soeren Le Schmidt. Although almost every look from the shoot went viral within a few minutes, it was a dress in bright Yves Klein blue with asymmetrical pleats that hardly anyone had seen so far. The look is part of the 40-page fashion series, but was neither published nor presented on Instagram and Co. by Vogue Scandinavia nor the royal family.

Now, a week after the magazine cover was published, Sofia is betting on the dress for the second time, choosing it for the 2024 Nobel Prize ceremony and banquet. Designer Le Schmidt tells Vogue he is touched by the choice, describing it as an “incredible honor” , which he feels is seeing the design worn “on such a momentous and high-profile occasion.” Your baby bump is particularly beautifully accentuated by layered darts.

Princess Madeleine: She sparkles her way into the attention of all participants

Princess Madeleine is attending the big event in her home country for the first time since 2017, raising high hopes for a correspondingly dramatic appearance. A sweeping skirt and lots of glitter: Princess Madeleine's green dress for the start of the Nobel Prize ceremonies in Sweden is a lot of things, but certainly not understated. Royal fans have already speculated that King Carl Gustav's youngest daughter will cause a sensation with her comeback at the most important event of the year. But in this dress the Swede looks like a real fairytale princess. The mother of three chooses an elegant gown that is decorated all over with sequins for the evening gala in Stockholm. Christopher O'Neill's wife also styles several bracelets in green and silver that shimmer in the light. Eye-catcher, next level!

This is what Victoria and co are wearing.

The Nobel Prize Gala in the Stockholm Concert Hall is a glamorous must-attend event for the Swedish royal family and in keeping with the occasion, the royal ladies not only take their finest gowns out of the closet, but also their glittering headdresses. What is striking is that while Queen Silvia and her last two daughters Victoria and Madeleine have rotated every now and then over the years, one of her sparkling favorite tiara remains true: Princess Sofia.

She relies on her wedding tiara again and only replaces the small stones at the tips of her tiara.

Sister-in-law Victoria seems to feel differently. She breaks out of her comfort zone at the Nobel Prize Gala and takes part in the important event in a cool pale purple dress. And it's not just because of its color that it causes a stir. The robe also impresses with semi-transparent tulle over the actual dress, making it a great eye-catcher.
