Apple caused a little surprise with the release of the macOS Sequoia 15.2 update. According to macrumors.com, hidden in the update code are references to two new MacBook Air models that are scheduled to come onto the market this year.
The software contains files labeled “Mac16,12” and “Mac16,13,” which would clearly indicate new MacBook Air variants. Specifically, we are talking about a “MacBook Air (13-inch, M4, 2025)” and a “MacBook Air (15-inch, M4, 2025)”.
Apple thus indirectly confirms the long-awaited update of the MacBook Air series with the new M4 chip. Industry experts expect the new models to be released in spring 2025. No design changes are expected; the focus is on the integration of the M4 chip.
