There seem to be massive problems with Meta that are causing disruptions to Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

Since around 7 p.m., many users have no longer been able to send or receive WhatsApp messages. However, individual messages are apparently still getting through. Instagram and Facebook are also affected. The pages often load very slowly or not at all.
Tens of thousands of fault reports – also internationally
The website alleunternehmen.de reported more than 125,000 fault reports for Whatsapp alone. Hundreds of thousands of people in Germany search Google for “Instagram disruption”, “Whatsapp disruption” and similar terms.

But it's not just Germany that is currently experiencing outages on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. The British “The Sun” also reports outages among thousands of users.

Meta, the parent company of the sites, commented on the problems at X in the evening: “We are aware that a technical problem is affecting some users' access to our apps. We are working to make things right as quickly as possible and apologize for the inconvenience.”
