Dortmund. The 13th Christmas show of the “Flic Flac” circus in Dortmund is underway. But which artistic numbers are particularly good? We have decided.

The “Flic Flac” circus is a safe bet when it comes to dramatic acrobatics and exciting show acts. Or… hasn't it been the same for 13 years? Artistry, comedy and something with bikes? Sure, but the circus manages to find itself anew every year.

On Wednesday the 13th. The light show also fit perfectly, and the new LED screen sucked the audience into the rousing atmosphere even more than the light effects already did.

However, it was sometimes hard to decide when watching: Do you pay more attention to the elaborate graphic animation films in the background or to the people in the ring? Especially with the “Space Elements” (four artists with classical acrobatics) and Olga Boiko (acrobatics in the hanging ring) it is difficult to concentrate on the artists.
These six show acts particularly stand out (in our opinion) at the 13th X-Mas show of the “Flic Flac” circus in Dortmund:
The most gripping music:
As if the “Wheel of Death” of the two “Flyers Valencia” wasn’t exciting enough: the sustaining, driving electro sounds hit deep into the heart – as if they came from the sci-fi sound design of film music legend Hans Zimmer. The music pulled like a rope on the dramatic artistic number, where every millimeter counted in the flying double wheel. It was only at the end to add even more drama to the last daring jump. Breathtaking!
The most acrobatic number:
The “Shandong Acrobatic Group” was able to end the show with their classical artistry. The large group from China started gently and then increased significantly: After jumping “man on man”, the boys dared to go higher and higher – until four floors were formed at the end. A worthy end to the circus evening!
The loudest applause:
Where did she get that from?! Vladislava Naraieva probably impressed the audience the most with her show. Her handstand tricks were actually quite simple: she hopped up the ten-step staircase on one hand, showed more handstand numbers at the top and hopped down again. “Stop watching me!” was written on her skin-tight suit. But that was hardly possible with their show. Impressive!
The most emotional number:
Just speed isn't enough in the circus. It also needs rest. The duo “Since Moment” brought a lot of emotion into the game – with a powerful performance that quickly brought tears. This was mainly due to the videos and photos on the background screen: holiday moments on the beach, intimate togetherness, love. This was also reflected in their show on the “Aerial Straps”: the daring numbers on the high-hanging rope embodied pure familiarity. Strong!
The most perfect appearance:
The five “Catwall Acrobats” on their trampoline wall quickly appear inhumane and mechanical: in perfect synchronization, they dropped onto the trampoline on both sides of the Plexiglas tower, ran up the vertical with barely tangible ease, and flew backwards into the tower openings and let himself fall back again. As if it were just a walk, without any noticeable exertion, without any movement too much. Fascinatingly easy!
