Windows 10/11: Phone Link as an iPhone bridge builder
Available now Files seamlessly between iOS devices like iPhones and computers can be transferred with Windows 10 or 11. The prerequisite for this is the Phone Link and Link to Windows apps. The function is initially only available to participants in the Windows Insider program.
Photos, videos or documents can be swapped directly between an iPhone and a Windows PC without the need for a third-party app or USB cable. Users just need to make sure that their iPhone at least iOS 16 Used and the versions of the Phone Link (1.24112.89.0) and Link to Windows (1.24112.73) apps are current. The setup takes place either at the Pairing iPhone and PC or later via a special link.
Data exchange is easy: On iPhone, select a file, tap Share, and select the connected PC. Conversely, all you need to do is right-click on a file on the computer to send it directly to the iPhone. Notifications show the progress of the transfer (Source: Microsoft Windows Blogs).

The seamless file transfer closes an annoying gap between iOS and Windows. The exchange is made much easier, especially for users who previously had to use cumbersome alternatives such as email or cloud services.
