Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death in a revenge killing over a romantic relationship, police said Thursday. The victim was reportedly stabbed in the heart with a knife. The background was a personal dispute about an affair. A case has been registered with Keesara police.
According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday evening after the victim Mahipal and the accused Prudhvi Raj had a drink with friends. Some time later, when it was just the two of them, Mahipal told Prudhvi that he was having an affair with a woman with whom Prudhvi was in a relationship.
This enraged Prudhvi, who took Mahipal to a secluded place and allegedly attacked him. The next morning, Mahipal's body was found near Hardaspally village.
It was only after the police, who reached the spot after receiving information, posted the pictures on local WhatsApp groups that the friends who were at the party pointed at Prudhvi.
After establishing Prudhvi's involvement, police arrested him. The police were unable to locate the murder weapon. Prudhvi was remanded in custody.
