The beta update for Samsung's One UI 7.0 is here – and many want to install it immediately. But some important apps are not yet supported by the new operating system.
The first update to Samsung's latest operating system is here – the One UI 7.0 beta. So far, the update and thus a preview of the latest Samsung features is available for three of the manufacturer's smartphones. But before you rush to find the update, you should know that some popular apps may no longer work after the update.
Well-known leaker CID shares a screenshot in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that looks like a message from the One UI Beta team. In response to the leaker's request, it confirms that certain apps are not yet compatible with One UI 7.0.
Payment apps are also said to be affected
According to the message from the One UI Beta team shared in the post, both the video conferencing application Zoom and the messenger service Google Messages are not yet supported by One UI 7.0. Various payment apps are also affected – which ones exactly are not mentioned in the leaked message from the Samsung team. In addition, Good Lock Themes, which you can use to further customize the user interface, will no longer be officially compatible after the update to One UI 7.0.
The supposed Samsung answer states that there may be problems when using the apps mentioned. It also states that the lack of app support will be fixed with the stable version of One UI 7.0. However, their publication is not expected until the first quarter of 2025.
Users answer: Many apps still work
In the comments to the leaker's post, many users stated that the apps mentioned continued to work for them even after the first beta update to One UI 7.0. Others report that certain banking apps don't work for them. The leaker points out that although the applications can still work, they still lack official support from the One UI 7.0 operating system.
This means that functionality cannot be guaranteed for banking apps, Google Messages, Zoom and Good Lock Themes. If it doesn't work, you can't expect any technical support. If the leaker's information is correct and you know that you absolutely need the above apps to work, it would be worth considering waiting until the final version before updating to One UI 7.0 – and perhaps avoiding the beta.
