Berlin – Anti-car activists had some cars in the car on Thursday Berliner Niederschöneweide district damaged with stickers and construction foam. Now the state security is investigating.
As the police reported, a resident noticed the damage to her car parked on Hainstrasse around 10:40 a.m. and called the emergency services.
Unknown perpetrators had stuck a sticker on the car with the words “Be greener!” next to a picture of Economics Minister Robert Habeck (55, Green Party).
The sticker could not be removed without leaving residue. The perpetrators also sprayed the bumper with construction foam.
The owners of more than 40 cars on Hainstrasse and the owners of more than 50 cars on nearby Scheiblerstrasse experienced a similarly unpleasant surprise this morning.
So far, no group has commented on the property damage and the motivation behind it. In the past, the “tire extinguishers” made a name for themselves, and not just in Berlin, by regularly letting the air out of the tires of SUVs.
Since a political background is obvious given the perpetrators' actions, the police state security of the State Criminal Police Office took over the investigation, as usual in these cases.
