Former rugby star Tom Voyce had been missing since Sunday. Now there is sad certainty.
The severe storms in Great Britain last weekend claimed a prominent life: former England rugby international Tom Voyce was found dead on Thursday. This was reported by Northumbria Police.
The 43-year-old, who played nine times for the England national team from 2001 to 2006, had been missing since Sunday after he failed to return home after meeting friends.
According to police, Voyce was allegedly swept away by the water while crossing a flooded river near Bolten.
“This is an extremely sad development and our thoughts continue to be with Mr Voyce’s family,” said Chief Inspector Helena Barron.
