– The new episode of the Abyss Advent Calendar is about dealers, investigation methods and large drug rings: This time we take a look behind the door of the drug department of the Nuremberg-Fürth public prosecutor's office.
Mushrooms and powder, marijuana and the cocaine mafia: this is Philipp Roggenhofer's specialty. He works in the narcotics department of the Nuremberg-Fürth public prosecutor's office.
For our Advent calendar of the true crime podcast “Abysses,” we look behind an otherwise closed door at the police and justice system every day in 24 episodes. The current episode is about exactly this narcotics department. In episode 13, lawyer Roggenhofer talks about his everyday work, what he has experienced and how strange the drug world can be.
The cat, the cat, to eat more “magic mushrooms”.
Roggenhofer once investigated hallucinogenic mushrooms in a case involving the effects of “magic mushrooms”. “Two gentlemen were sitting together and consuming the mushrooms and after their description, a cat suddenly came into the room and told them to please eat all the mushrooms. “That of course increased the intoxication considerably,” says the public prosecutor.
However, despite all the strangeness of consuming any drug, it should definitely not be underestimated. Roggenhofer clearly emphasizes how dangerous it can be – not only for consumers, but also for those around them. In episode 13 of the Abyss Advent Calendar, now available wherever podcasts are available or at nn.de/podcasts, Roggenhofer explains what happened to the two mushroom users and what cannabis legalization now means for his work.
