Cement Public Schools students begin strike

CEMENT, Oklahoma (KSWO) – Some Cement Public School students have spent the day striking outside the classroom because they are unhappy with one of the school’s administrators.

The students and some of their parents accuse the school administration of being rude to students and teachers.

They hope it will be removed.

“Something will be done or he will be expelled because we don't feel safe at school because he is violent and just rude to everyone for no reason,” said Danaca Touchet, a ninth-grader at Cement Public Schools.

The students plan to protest until something is done.

“Our expectations here are that Cement Public Schools will get better again,” said Tyler Robinson, an 11th-grader. “This school hasn't been great in a long time. It really doesn't feel like a school anymore, it feels like a prison and it's just awful.”

Some parents who supported their children provided them with water and snacks.

We have contacted the school several times but have not spoken to them at the time of this publication.
