Northeast Wyoming Fire Update August 26 – Sheridan Media

The Southwest Area Incident Management Team #5 provided an update on the fires in northeast Wyoming in a press release on Monday.

They reported that firefighters managed to keep the fires in Flat Rock, Constitution, Remington and House Draw under control during the night from Sunday to Monday.

The latest information on the fires is:

Flat Rock Fire at 52,500 acres and 35% contained; Remington Fire at just over 196,000 acres and 0% contained; Constitution Fire at around 25,000 acres and 28% contained; and House Draw Fire at around 175,000 acres and 88% contained.

No evacuations are planned in Sheridan, Johnson and Campbell counties in Wyoming.

However, a Level 2 evacuation order is in effect for Big Horn, Rosebud and Powder River counties in Montana.

Cooler temperatures were expected for Monday with an increased chance of showers and heavy rain in the fire areas.
