The manufacturer AVM has released a new update for FRITZ!Fon devices. In addition to changes to the design, the audio quality of the devices during hands-free calling should be improved in particular.

AVM has provided a comprehensive update for the FRITZ!Fon models X6, C6, C5 and C4. In addition to design optimizations, the update offers innovations to improve the user experience with a dark mode and increased audio quality. AVM calls the FRITZ!Fon an all-round talent that offers a high level of telephone convenience for both professional and private purposes and can also be used as a media player and for smart home control. In conjunction with a FRITZ!Box from FRITZ!OS 7.90, the FRITZ!Fon update is available not only for the FRITZ!Fon X6 and C6 models, but also for the older C5 and C4 models. According to the manufacturer, installation is easy and convenient via menu/settings/software version. Further articles on new FRITZ!OS versions can also be found on DIGITAL TELEVISION.

Design changes, dark mode and increased hands-free quality

With the update, manufacturer AVM changed, among other things, the design of the software. The FRITZ!Fon interface should now appear more reduced, offer clear lines and also have a tidy and elegant look thanks to new accent colors. Optimized fonts are intended to ensure improved readability in all menus. AVM speaks of a pleasant viewing experience when using the devices. In addition to a new software design, the new update also introduces a so-called dark mode for all models. This should not only offer an eye-friendly display in poor lighting conditions, but also elegant aesthetics. Especially with the FRITZ!Fon X6, according to manufacturer AVM, the so-called dark mode fits perfectly into the housing design.

In addition to the changed menu design, which also includes new symbols and other graphic elements, and the dark mode, there should also be a rather useful innovation with a storm warning symbol on the weather screen of the FRITZ!Fon devices. The symbol is intended to provide information about announced strong winds or storms. AVM also states a direct functional innovation in the list for the update of the FRITZ!Fon models X6, C6, C5 and C4: The audio quality for hands-free calling should improve as a result of the update. The manufacturer says that users who frequently use hands-free calling will benefit from further improvements in audio quality. Conversations should appear clearer and more natural.
