You don't look at it for a moment and the year is over again! But 2024 won't say goodbye without the big spectacle at the end. The Game Awards are celebrating their tenth anniversary and of course they have once again set off a lot of fireworks.
On the one hand, we have finally clarified that Sony's Jump n Run Astro Bot is the undisputed top game of the year. They were able to secure the prize for game of the year. But Metaphor: Refantazio and Hellblade 2 were also able to secure some awards.
But the second important pillar of the show is the new announcements and updates about upcoming games. And there were really some real hits and surprises. So that you don't have to wade through the three-hour show with eulogies and cheap commercials, we've summarized everything you need to know here.
New announcements
Thick as thieves
Otherside Entertainment | 2026| PC, PS5, XSX
Warren Spector is doing Thief again! So somehow…. But also somehow not. Thick as Thieves is definitely a successor in spirit to the old theft series. However, you are not alone here, you are stealing with others or against each other. The big thing about the game is the multiplayer.

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound
Dotemu | 2025 | PC, PS4, PS5, XBO, XSX, NSW
Things are getting busy because Ninaj Gaiden is coming back. And just like before. Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is a 16-bit pixel platformer where you slash your way through various stages and lots of enemies.
The developers have already proven that this can be the case. These are the same ones who made the excellent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge.
Shadow maze
Bandai Namco| 2025| PC, PS5, XSX, NSW
Is that Pacman or what? We asked ourselves in the editorial team when the trailer for Shadow Labyrinth followed. You're actually a ninja-like guy, but at the same time you have the yellow Pacman flying around next to you, with which you also have to eat the classic points. Is that necessary? That remains to be seen.
Midnight Murder Club
Velan Studios| February 2025| PC, PS5
And another Phasmophobia clone. In Midnight Murderer Club you are in an old Victorian property and have to be careful of the eerie ghosts there. There is everything you need for a Phasmophobia clone. Ghost detection devices, environmental chat and of course jump scares.

Kyora
Pug Storm | PC
A bit like Terraria, but Kyora looks nicer. From the makers of Core Keeper comes a new small survival game in 2D style. With your friends you build your base on the upper world, but for the resources you dig deeper and deeper into the dark caves of the world. You leave no stone unturned, because every pixel can be manipulated in some way.
ReMatch
Sloclap | Summer 2025 | PC, PS5, XSX
What counts is on the pitch! That's what the developers at Sifu thought. Instead of unpacking an aging martial artist again, we're now going to the football field. In Rematch you play 5 against 5 soccer games, where each of your friends also takes over a player on the field. The game also looks really stylish, as the scenery changes every time a goal is scored.
Solasta 2
Tactical Adventures | 2025| PC
Solasta: Crown of the Magister was already an insider tip for D&D role-playing game fans. However, the game was a little lost in the slipstream of Baldur's Gate 3. Now the developers are announcing a successor that once again relies on faithful implementation of the rules and gripping tactical battles. The first trailer also shows that the makers have done a lot of work on the graphics. A demo will be released soon and the game will go into early access next year.

The Witcher 4
CD Project Red
Ciri is back. We had to wait a long time, now CD Projekt Red has finally officially announced The Witcher 4. After Geralt's retirement, Ciri takes on the role of the protagonist this time. The CGI trailer hasn't revealed much about the game, other than that some time has apparently passed since the events of its predecessor. Ciri has aged significantly. But the world still doesn't seem to be a really pleasant place in which sorcerers can still find enough work.
Elden Ring: Night Reign
By Software | 2025 | PC, PS4, PS5, XBO, XSX
Nobody could have seen that. From Software is upping the ante with Elden Ring. However, not in the way you think. There is no new expansion, but there is a spin-off. Elden Ring: Night Reign focuses entirely on co-op gameplay. This time you can connect directly to each other and go without crooked or festering fingers. The concept is also mixed with a bit of Battle Royale. At night the game world shrinks little by little.
