Forgive the clickbait headline, but I didn't believe it at first, because of course everyone first saw Kumail Nanjiani (including “Silicon Valley”, “Eternals”) on the wanted poster that protagonist Jordan is chasing. Maybe one or the other even recognized that Tati Gabrielle (“You”, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) plays the main role with the face of the actress Tati Gabrielle behind it.
The probably even bigger coup, however, was hidden in a photo that was posted on the bulletin board in Jordan's spaceship. There you can see the picture of the legendary gangster gang Five Aces, which seems to have disappeared. In addition to Kumail Nanjiani's character “Colin Graves” there is a woman and a man who I cannot identify – and then a very familiar face: Tony Dalton, who appears as Eduardo “Lalo” Salamanca in “Better Caul Saul”. charming way that made the blood run cold in your veins.
There is no official confirmation of this yet, but the visage is unmistakable!
This role in particular demonstrated perfectly how effortlessly Dalton was able to switch from friendly and friendly to ice-cold evil. Absolutely brilliant work. He also won a dubious role in the Disney Plus series “Hawkeye”, but here he showed himself to be a much more light-hearted “frenemy”.
It's quite possible that Jordan's hunt for Nanjiani's character took place primarily because she wants to get to the leader of the gangster squad through him. Oh, by the way, she herself can also be seen in the photo of the gang. Was she the fifth member in the end and betrayed? Questions upon questions, but Nanjiani and Dalton's involvement definitely makes us excited for what was to come.
Intergalactic with soundtrack by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and Atticus Ross
Especially since they didn't skimp on star power when it came to the soundtrack. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross provide the background music. If the names mean something to you, it's because it's the current line-up of the band Nine Inch Nails and the two are now accomplished film composers.
Reznor is David Fincher's house and farm composer; he received the Oscar together with Ross in 2010 for The Social Network, and in 2021 they received it together with Jon Batiste for Pixar's “Soul”. The Killer, Gone Girl and Bird Box also missed their distinctive soundscape.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet – terrible title somehow, but skip over it – will initially be released as a PS5 exclusive, but there is still no date. A PC version is likely to follow later, unless Sony PlayStation rethinks its current, quite successful tactic of publishing its games on home computers.
