De'Vondre Campbell caused a scandal in the North American professional football league NFL. The San Francisco 49ers linebacker refused to play against the Los Angeles Rams.
The 31-year-old was supposed to come on the field in the third quarter for the injured Dre Greenlaw, but nothing came of it. “He said he didn’t want to play today,” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said after the party. He emphasized that he had never experienced anything like this in his coaching career and that the team had to find a solution to deal with this situation.

Campbell also caused incomprehension among his teammates. “I think it was a selfish action. “He definitely hurt the team,” cornerback Charvarius Ward said.
