Snoop Dogg reigns supreme in sci-fi film

After “Missionary” comes Hollywood: Snoop Dogg will be in front of the camera again! But not just for a supporting role: According to an exclusive report from Variety, the Death Row Records boss has chosen to play the murderers in a new Hollywood film. The director of the science fiction film is by no means unknown!

Snoop Dogg stars in new Luc Besson film 'The Last Man'

According to Hollywood magazine, he plays Dog dad the roles in “The Last Man,” the upcoming film from French director Luc Besson. Snoop Dogg will not only act as an actor, but will also produce the film with Death Row Pictures, as Variety reports. Luc Besson is best known for films such as “Léon – The Professional”, “The Fifth Element” and “Lucy”.

What “The Last Man” will be about is not yet entirely known. The only known information is that the film is said to be inspired by the apocalyptic classic “Planet of the Apes” and is in some way related to the Snoop Dogg track “Last Man Standing” from 2009. However, the track is not apocalyptic at all. Just like Luc Besson's classic “The Fifth Element”, “The Last Man” is intended to combine science fiction and comedy. Filming is scheduled to begin next year.

They worked together once before in 2006: Snoop Dogg had a speaking role in the English version of Luc Besson's animated film “Arthur and the Minimoys”. The collaboration between Luc Besson and Snoop Dogg has been brewing for a while, as the director tells Variety.
