A man has been charged over the death of an 11-year-old boy who was hit by a garbage truck in Edinburgh earlier this year.
Thomas Wong was cycling when he collided with the truck on Whitehouse Road on March 1.
Emergency crews attended the scene, but Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland said a 28-year-old man had been arrested and charged with a driving offence. He will appear in court at a later date.
Thomas was a pupil at Cramond Primary School and lived in Edinburgh.
In a statement following his death, his family said: “Thomas was the perfect son. He was the best little brother to his older sister and was adored by his entire family.”
It was the second incident in Scotland this year in which a child was killed after being hit by a garbage truck.
Elizabeth Bell, 11, died in hospital after being hit by a garbage truck near East Gordon in the Borders in January
