The Liberty enter Monday's game against Diana Taurasi, Napheesa Collier and Co. with the best record in the WNBA, but are coming off their first loss since July 6 with a 72-64 defeat to the Connecticut Sun. Before that loss, New York had won eight straight games on the back of poor shooting, as the Liberty made just 36.9 percent of their shots from the field and 21.9 percent of their three-point shots.

The Mercury are looking to build momentum for a hopeful playoff run, but they have never played more than two games over or under .500 all season. Phoenix was able to pull one point off the Atlanta Dream last time out, 82-80, after losing to Atlanta 72-63 two nights earlier. Brittney Griner led the way with 22 points and Taurasi added 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
