Another The Incredibles Film is on the way. Pixar's Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter recently spoke about the highly anticipated The Incredibles 3which was announced at D23 earlier this month.
“Brad [Bird] is a great employee. He is so fiery and passionate. Different people work differently,” Docter told Fandango (via ComicBook.com) about the development of The Incredibles 3. “He’s a guy who still needs some time to get going and develop his passion and strength. I think we are at that point now. And We're not giving any details at the moment because it's still pretty vague what the story is actually about.”
During the animation studio’s presentation at D23, Docter revealed that Bird – who both wrote and directed the film – The Incredibles (2004) and The Incredibles 2 (2018) — was in early development on The Incredibles 3No further details have been announced yet, including whether any of the voice actors from the first two films will return for the third sequel.

Published in 2004, The Incredibles follows the superpowered Parr family, who hide their powers from the world by government order in a retro-futuristic version of the 1960s. However, after Bob/Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) secretly starts fighting crime again, the rest of his family – his wife Helen/Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), daughter Violet (Sarah Vowell), and sons Dash (Spencer Fox) and Jack-Jack – as well as Bob's superhero ally Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) eventually become drawn into his mission to stop a vengeful fan-turned-enemy, Syndrome (Jason Lee).
The sequel, The Incredibles 2picks up directly from the events of the 2004 animated film and follows the Parr family as they try to restore the public's faith in superheroes while balancing their family life. Nelson, Hunter, Vowell and Jackson reprise their roles from the first film, while Huckleberry replaces Milner Fox as the voice of Dash. Both The Incredibles Films were huge box office hits, grossing a total of $1.8 billion worldwide.
“Inside Out” could be the next Pixar franchise with three sequels
The Incredibles will be the third Pixar franchise to receive at least three films, after Toy history (the fifth part is scheduled to be released in 2026) and Cars (There are rumors that there will be a fourth film.) Another popular Pixar franchise that could soon get a third installment is Everything is upside downThe animation studio released a commercially successful sequel, Inside Out 2earlier this summer, and the film's cast is already excited about Riley's journey into adulthood.
Kensington Tallman, the Riley in Inside Out 2announced earlier this month that it was Inside Out 3 to continue with Riley as she grows up and goes to college. “I feel like the three defining moments in our lives are childhood, adolescence and then adulthood,” she claimed. “Going from adolescence to adulthood is so different. I'm not there yet – I only turned 16 the day before yesterday, so I'm about to get there – but a lot of my friends are older and in college. They're going through different changes, like being away from home and living on their own. I think that would be a really unique story for Inside Out 3. Fingers crossed! ”
The Incredibles And The Incredibles 2 will be streamed on Disney+. A release date for The Incredibles 3 has not yet been announced.
