This exceptional horror film may not have generated quite as much attention in the cinema as “Terrifier 3”, but it certainly deserves it now. Or have you ever seen a slasher that's told from the killer's point of view?
What does “Halloween” assassin Michael Myers actually do when he's not peeping menacingly from behind a bush before suddenly disappearing without a trace? And how does “Terrifier” terror juggler Art the Clown pass the time when he’s not busy dismantling his victims into their individual parts? Yes, What do the legendary murderers of horror pop culture do when they're not murdering? Every horror fan has probably asked themselves this question at some point. And now there is finally an answer!
Because “In a violent nature“ is a slasher that is told from the killer's point of view – and thus takes a complete look at the new slasher films that have been so popular for decades. The slightly different genre entry was released in German film theaters on October 24th and only lasted four weeks I stream* – and now you can put the horror thriller on your shelf too. But is catching up worth it? In any case, you can expect a film like you've probably never seen before – where opinions differ, as expected. We at FILMSTARTS join the majority of the trade press that recognizes “In A Violent Nature” as an absolute exception. So we have a recommendation:
In the FILMSTARTS review awarded 4.5 out of 5 stars as excellent as possible. Our author Jochen Werner praises the film as an “abstract game with genre conventions and narrative set pieces”, but also thinks that it is not just worth seeing because of its difference. In his conclusion, he points out that director Chris Nash (“The ABCs Of Death”) takes an unconventional approach to his new work, but the result is also quite suitable for the masses: “Through his extremely violent, make-up and “But with special effects realized using prostheses, it also functions as a conventional genre contribution.”

Then you follow the hooded murderer wherever he goes – and accompany him as he hunts down his next victim…
