FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – Zach Robinson has received plenty of accolades over the past year, but perhaps none was as meaningful as a simple recognition from his own department.
On August 26, Robinson was promoted along with eight of his colleagues within the Fargo Police Department. He was one of five new sergeants, two new lieutenants, a new captain and a new detective.
Mayor Tim Mahoney and Police Chief David Zibolski spoke at the ceremony, which was held in the city council chambers. Zibolski spoke about how the department is careful to place employees in a variety of roles to maximize their development and not let them get stuck in a routine that is too comfortable.
“As we talk about growing and sustaining our department, it's critical that we hire people with those skills and utilize them within the department,” he said. “They can take that knowledge and skills with them to other areas of the department.”
Mahoney added that the promotions were earned through hard work and dedication to the safety of our community.
