Types of contracts and which ones should be prioritized
The Star Wars Outlaws factions have several brokers across the galaxy and they have some contracts that you can take on. You can have up to three contracts per planet:
- Select the “Manage” option if you want to cancel a contract. There are no penalties for doing so.
- If you attempt to fulfill a contract (i.e. go to the location) and fail, you lose your standing with the faction that hired you. If that activity involves stealing from a rival faction and you get caught, then your failure and arrest will result in you losing your standing with both factions – the one that hired you and the one you tried to steal from.
- You can select a contract to track from the Journal menu. You can also press the corresponding button to view the location on the map if you want to find a fast travel point nearby.
In any case, here are the types of faction contracts:
- Thief – Steal an item from an NPC or area.
- Infiltrator – Find a terminal and hack it.
- Enforcer – Steal cargo from enemy territory.
- Smuggler – Pick up an item and deliver it to a location. Fast travel is not allowed, so you must travel by speeder. You will also be attacked by enemies along the way.
For best results, try to get a single faction's reputation to the maximum level first. If you can't do that, try to get good standing with a few factions. This is helpful because some of these contracts will take you into the territories of rival factions. If you have good standing with them, you can enter their hubs and settlements without being attacked.
Example: You have a thief's contract from the Pyke Syndicate to steal an item from an NPC in the Crimson Dawn district. If Crimson Dawn doesn't consider you an enemy, you can just walk in and find your target. Then use Nix to steal the item and leave without any problems.
