Google has released an update for Windows users for its file transfer solution Quick Share. Version 1.0.2034.4 marks the first update since the introduction of support for Windows ARM devices equipped, for example, with the Snapdragon X Elite chip.
The new version contains several improvements. Users can now change their visibility settings directly from the tray icon in the taskbar. The developers also integrated the Quick Share logo into the app animations and fixed a bug where URLs were incorrectly recognized as normal text instead of links. Another issue that prevented the creation of a shortcut in the Start menu has also been resolved. The delay when starting the app after logging into Windows is also a thing of the past.
Quick Share emerged from the collaboration between Google and Samsung in January 2024. The function previously existed under the name Nearby Share, which Google introduced in 2020. Fortunately, merging with Samsung's own Quick Share for Galaxy devices simplified the fragmented system.
