FC Bayern is urgently looking for a backup for Harry Kane. However, a possible candidate probably fails due to the high financial demands.

Munich – Viktor Gyökeres has drawn attention to himself with his performances at Sporting Lisbon. The Swedish striker shone in the Portuguese league with his exceptional accuracy: in 13 games he scored 17 goals and prepared another goal. He also impressed in the Champions League with 5 goals in 6 appearances. Loud TEAM talk Bayern are impressed by Gyökeres' current form, but the required transfer fee of around 75 million euros is probably too big a hurdle.

The Munich team is specifically looking for a backup for Harry Kane, as the English striker's injury has revealed the thin line-up in the top striker. Players like Omar Marmoush and Benjamin Šeško were also considered options, but financial or sporting reasons also seem to make transfers unlikely for them. There is also the question of whether a top player would be willing to only play a supporting role behind Kane – a difficult task when planning the squad.

David as the most promising candidate

Another name that could be in focus is Jonathan David. The 24-year-old impresses at OSC Lille with his versatility and goalscoring qualities. His contract expires in the summer, which means he could be available on a free transfer – an attractive advantage for Bayern. In addition, David's close friendship with Alphonso Davies could be an argument for switching. However, there is also competition here from other top European clubs who could offer him the prospect of longer playing times.

Bayern's high demands on a new striker make the search much more difficult. While Gyökeres may be moving to the Premier League, it remains unclear whether a suitable candidate can be found who meets both the sporting and financial requirements.
