The answer to yesterday's question
All three cities are located east of San Francisco Bay, but in themselves they are all one metropolitan area. As part of Disney, Pixar still has its headquarters in Emeryville, between the university town of Berkeley and Oakland, home until 2019 of the Golden State Warriors, the favorite basketball club of Apple Services boss Eddy Cue. They are now playing in San Francisco again.

But while we're in Emeryville, we'll stay east of the bay, go to a Tower of Power concert in Oakland (after the Golden State Warriors are back home in San Francisco) and drive to the southern end of the bay via Hayward and Fremont thus the conglomerate of large and medium-sized cities.
There, just behind Milpitas, San José awaits us, the end of Silicon Valley and, unlike San Francisco, even a city of millions. But San José is not nearly as well known.
It is home to large and well-known companies such as Netgear or the network equipment provider Cisco, whose name corresponds to a character string in the word San Francisco. San Jose is also home to Adobe, a company whose software also helped Apple grow.

In the meantime, the Mac manufacturer's relationship with the developers of Photoshop and the like has cooled down significantly; Apple will probably now give its former partner considerable competition with the takeover of Pixelmator – but we are looking forward to professional image processing from Apple.
San José is considered the capital of Silicon Valley, and it is no coincidence that Apple has long held its developer conference WWWDC – the acronym stands for Worldwide Developers Conference. More specifically from 1990 to 2002 and then again from 2017 to 2019 at the McEnery Convention Center. In between, Apple hosted the Moscone Center in San Francisco, which may be the better place from a tourist perspective, but the developers and journalists came to Northern California to work.
In 2020, Apple had to move WWDC, not just on the calendar but also on the map. Something had intervened in the world and Apple had to find WWDC again. This didn't hurt the event as much as one might think.
Because the complete virtuality that Apple was now forced to adopt eliminated a problem that had increasingly plagued WWDC: there were around a million applications for every 5,000 tickets. Since June 2020, not only has the keynote been a completely pre-produced show, but all sessions have also only taken place online. Bad luck for Europeans who had to sleep around all night, but lucky for everyone who traveled to California but couldn't get into the Moscone Center or the McEnery.
The virus is still circulating, but the pandemic is over. However, Apple is wisely not returning to the way it was before 2020, although more and more developers are now actually allowed to come to Cupertino.
The question:
Apple likes to give its keynote a theme that WWDC prefers not to. This year, in addition to the WWDC opening, there were only two (virtual) keynotes, one in May (iPads) and one in September (iPhones). Apple did not use one of the following mottos this year. Which?
- Release
- It's glow time
- Scary fast

Harber London leather MacBook case
Eugene Wegman
The “Leather Macbook Sleeve” from Harber London impresses with its simple design, high-quality workmanship and beautiful materials – leather and wool felt. However, the protection aspect is extremely superficial and at best prevents your MacBook from being scratched by other objects in the backpack, especially since it cannot be closed.
