Bandai Namcoone of the leading publishers in the gaming industry, stands for numerous important franchises such as Dark souls, Pac Man, stories and Tekken. The year 2024 was an emotional rollercoaster for the company. On the one hand, high-profile games like Gundam Breaker 4, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero! and released the acclaimed Tekken 8. On the other hand, some titles received a mixed to negative response.
While Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Fight and Unknown 9: Awakening were torn apart by critics, games like Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream and Death Note: Killer Within mixed reviews. Despite these challenges, the future release program looks promising. Bandai Namco has announced seven new games, including horror platformer Little Nightmares 3 Super massive games and the dark action RPG Dawnwalker from Rebel Wolves.
Promising releases in 2025
Four new titles are scheduled to appear in the first half of 2025. Two of them are remasters of existing games. Freedom Wars Remastered, an improved port of the 2014 Monster Hunter-like action RPG, will be released on January 10, 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC. Shortly afterwards, on January 17th, Tales of Graces f Remastered will follow for PS4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Another title, Synduality: Echo of Adawill be released on January 27, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. This sci-fi PvPvE extraction shooter with action RPG mechanics and playable mechs is part of a larger multimedia franchise from Bandai Namcowhich also includes an anime, manga, light novel and the like.
Another highlight in 2025 is Bleach: Rebirth of Soulsa 3D arena fighting game with a unique one-hit-kill mechanic based on the popular anime series. It is the first Bleach game for home consoles in more than a decade and is scheduled for release in early 2025.
Although Bandai Namco hasn't officially announced any more games for the first half of 2025, titles like Little nightmares 3 and Fate/EXTRA record also appear during this period. Little Nightmares 3 was originally scheduled to release in 2024, but was pushed back to 2025, suggesting development was completed quickly. The same goes for the upcoming JRPG Fate/EXTRA Record, which has been in the works for almost half a decade.
Bandai Namco is looking forward to an exciting 2025, starting with a strong release list and hopefully overcoming the challenges of the previous year.
