On the Friday, December 13th episode, Dex Heller, portrayed by Evan Hofer, says goodbye to the popular drama.
In a recent interview with Weekly entertainmentThe 27-year-old admitted he was “nervous” ahead of the episode, anticipating how fans would react to the sudden twist.
For those who may have missed it, Dex was expected to make a full recovery days after the stabbing.
But in a shocking turn of events, he suffered a cardiac arrest while being visited by his girlfriend Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and girlfriend Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
Despite his short time on the show, which was due to his “one to three months” on-screen appearance, Hofer expressed his deep gratitude for being part of the iconic drama.
“I'm just so honored,” he shared, adding, “The last few weeks I've really just been trying to absorb how much I loved playing Dex and how much I loved all the people there .” GH.”
“I have had such a wonderful time over the last two and a half years. “I just wanted to make sure I did justice to the character in these final episodes,” the actor recalled.
Additionally, Hofer learned of Dex's fate just weeks before filming the final scenes, which only increased his appreciation for the entire experience.
