Kaiserslautern – Late in the afternoon of yesterday, Saturday (December 14, 2024), a serious traffic accident occurred on the A6 motorway from Saarbrücken towards Mannheim between Ramstein-Miesenbach and Kaiserslautern-West. A tractor-trailer crashed into a transporter in front of it for unknown reasons. Due to the force of the impact, the van was thrown to the right of the road and came to a stop on the grass verge.
The driver of the van suffered injuries in the accident and had to be taken to hospital immediately. There is currently no further information about his exact health status.
The volunteer fire department of the Ramstein-Miesenbach municipality deployed a large contingent to the scene of the accident to bring the situation under control. During the rescue work and to clarify the circumstances of the accident, the railway in the direction of Mannheim remained completely closed until the early hours of Sunday morning.
